Jan Dumée live at Mistura Fina, Rio de Janeiro - March 17th 2003
Guitar player Jan Dumée, member of the current lineup of legendary Dutch act Focus, leaded a charity event on March 17th 2003, a rainy Monday, at Mistura Fina, Rio de Janeiro. The rain didn't avoid though the house being packed. The money raised was reversed to the children's section of Brazil's National Institute of Cancer (INCA). Dumée presented in his gig a selection of his own compositions mixed with others, in a jam session environment, counting with several guest stars: bass player Arthur Maia (playing a D'Alegria custom bass), flute/sax players Carlos Malta and Mario Seve, drummers Marcio Bahia and Xande Figueiredo, pianist Marvio Ciribelli, percussionist Beto Cazes, Rodrigo Lessa on mandolin, as well as the remaining Focus members: Thijs van Leer on vocals and piano, Bert Smaak on drums, and Bobby Jacobs on bass.
For those who don't know Jan Dumée's work out of Focus, it has a straight relation with Brazilian music, for he lived in Rio for 2 years, playing different styles such as chorinho, Brazilian popular music (MPB), jazz, fusion.
