Active/passive: ToneChaser TC-3B Preamp, 9V supply, High headroom/low impedance output can feed line level inputs. Bass and Treble controls with pickups blender and volume (with a "push/pull" switch for selection between passive and active modes). Quick-release battery box.

Option of mini-switches for coil tapping: selection between humbucking (dual coil) and single coil modes for each pickup.

Pickups 2 EMG-HZ or ToneChaser TC-HBP (humbucker pickups) or 2 ToneChaser TC-SBP (single J-type pickups)
Nut Real bone
Tuners Grover or Gotoh sealed tuners (optional: Hipshot Ultralites)

Features Same as on the Defender JB, although adding on the basic configuration the mid control, the mini-switches for coil tapping; bookmatched veneer top on figured woods plus sunburst and matching headstock; fingerboard markers; no pickguard (back circuit cover).
