Freijó (Cordia goeldiana)

A very prized wood, with a color ranging from golden brown to dark brown. Its weight averages 590 Kg/m³. It is used basically on bodies, specifically to body wings. It has a very warm sound, so its use on body wings help equilibrate the tonal balance of a body with heavy woods on its center, like Jatobá and/or Pau-Marfim. A full Freijó body, laminated or not, provides a very pleasant result, with a smooth attack, which produces an amazing result for fretless basses or fretted ones with a very "vintage" sound. Its relatively low weight keeps the overall bass weight within reasonable limits.
