Marupá (Simarouba amara)
Marupá is a lightweight creamy wood, with very resonant characteristics. For its stability and tone, it can be used as a good choice for bodies and also for soundboards on acoustic instruments. It's our choice for Jazz Basses, since it is light (440 kg/m³) and very stable. It can also be used as body wings combined with heavier woods as cores, with excellent results.
