Pau-Marfim (Balfourodendron riedelianum)
A very hard and dense wood, Pau-Marfim is an all yellow wood, with fine texture and almost no figure on most of its cuts. Its weight averages 800 Kg/m³. Pau-Marfim can be used on accent lines on neck and body laminations, necks, veneers and body construction, basically for its center part. It contributes to a very punchy and brilliant sound. It can be used in conjunction with Jatobá on the center core of the body, a combination that contributes to a very equilibrated sound, with deep lows and brilliant highs.
