Tauari (Couratari spp.)
Tauari is usually a very light colour wood, almost white sometimes, with straight veins and beautiful figures. When PU is applied it gets a light orange colour, which allows it to be used on its natural colour or stained. Several species are sold as Tauari, some heavier and presenting a light reddish colour. Due to this variations of species, its specific weight ranges from 590 kg/m³ to 770 kg/m³ typically. It can be used on bodies as well as on necks and laminates, always with good results. On bodies it provides a balanced tone, with excelletn definition and clarity. The heavier cuts are suitable for small bodies or necks, since they're usually very stiff.
